Izmir Konak Vocational School was founded by the Kavram Education Foundation under a Council of Ministers decision dated 12 July 2008, opening in Istanbul as Istanbul Kavram Vocational School. It moved to Izmir in 2018 as Izmir Kavram Vocational School and took its current name in 2026. It is an independent foundation vocational school with no parent university, and teaching is in Turkish. Its motto — education in the sector, education with the sector — frames associate degree programmes that stretch from health and IT to technical trades.

About the university
Overview
Director Prof. Dr. Derman Küçükaltan heads the school, whose founding foundation is the Kavram Education Foundation. It was the first independent vocational school in Turkey to receive YÖKAK institutional accreditation. Full MEDEK accreditation (2025) covers Cookery, Architectural Restoration, Mechanical, Logistics, and Public Relations and Promotion programmes.
Campus and facilities
The campus is a single building in Oğuzlar, Konak. Its library has served students since 2008 with open shelves and wireless internet, staying open 24/7 in exam weeks, while reading room 114 is always available. Facilities include laboratories for oral and dental health, dialysis and physiotherapy, plus a training kitchen.
Latest developments
In September 2026 the school published a horizontal transfer announcement under Law No. 7592 and released staff recruitment results. Graduate Murat Demirtaş ranked 61st nationwide in the vertical transfer exam. An earthquake drill was held with AFAD Izmir, and education cooperation protocols were signed with six IT companies.
