Lokman Hekim University is a foundation university established by the founding foundation of the Lokman Hekim Health Group, which brings more than a quarter century of healthcare experience; teaching began in the 2018-2019 academic year. Its urban campus in Söğütözü, Çankaya, Ankara consists of blocks A, B and C, and its academic profile is entirely focused on health sciences. Clinical training takes place at the group's Lokman Hekim Ankara Hospital and Akay Hospital, and at the university's own Oral and Dental Health Application and Research Centre. The first graduates completed the vocational school in 2020, and the first specialist physicians graduated in 2026.

About the university
Overview
Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin heads the university, which reports 5,183 students. Teaching is in Turkish, with English-taught tracks in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Six faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Sciences and Sports Sciences, plus an institute of health sciences and a vocational school with 12 programmes.
Campus and facilities
The campus consists of blocks A, B and C in Söğütözü. VİTAL, opened in C Block in 2024 and presented as Ankara's largest simulation centre, runs polyclinic, operating theatre and intensive care scenarios, OSCE preparation and standardised patient practice. Sports facilities, laboratories and student residences are on site.
Latest developments
September 2026 brought the English placement exam results and a call for academic staff. It hosted the first national congress on holistic nursing care in neonatal intensive care units. Yoga supported physical activity for people with special needs, and an Erasmus+ project for seasonal agricultural workers was launched.
