Which document, and when?
A document list is not enough on its own; you need to know which paper is requested at which stage. This list puts them in order.
Application checklist
- 01
Passport and ID
The passport must stay valid through the application and enrolment period. A passport that expires soon causes problems at the visa stage, after admission.
- 02
Diploma, transcript and certified translation
In the language the university asks for, with a certified translation where required. The programme's own application page states whether a translation is needed.
- 03
Language evidence
The test and level depend on the programme; the condition on the programme page is what counts. Some programmes run their own language exam.
- 04
Statement of purpose
It has to be written for this programme. A letter written for another country or school is one of the most common reasons an application is rejected.
- 05
Proof of funds
A bank statement or a sponsor's commitment. The consulate and the university each decide which form they accept.
- 06
Timeline and deadlines
Deadlines differ by university and intake; the catalog and the university's official site are what count. Scholarship rounds usually close earlier.
This list covers document types and their order. Amounts, dates and admission conditions differ by country and university, so no figures are given here; confirm the exact detail in the official source.
