Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University is a foundation university founded in Istanbul in 2007 by the Acibadem Health and Education Foundation. It was established by Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, the founder of the Acibadem Health Group, and is positioned as a thematic institution focused on health sciences, with faculties of medicine, pharmacy, health sciences and engineering. Its most distinctive feature is the route it opens into Acibadem Health Group hospitals for internships, part-time work and employment after graduation.

About the university
Overview
Some 3,500 students study here, giving a student-to-faculty ratio of 7.6 to 1; 8 percent are international. Faculties cover medicine, pharmacy, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, and engineering and natural sciences, joined by four institutes and two vocational schools. Atakent Hospital is the teaching hospital, with Maslak Hospital affiliated.
Campus and facilities
The Kerem Aydinlar campus covers 100,000 square metres of enclosed space and holds LEED Gold certification. Its standout facility is CASE, the clinical simulation and advanced endoscopy and robotic surgery training centre. Central research laboratories and a biodesign centre are on site, and the library has branches at two hospitals.
Rankings
In the URAP 2025-2026 ranking the university scores 853.1 points, placing 23rd overall, 4th among foundation universities and 2nd among post-2000 institutions. It holds the 1501+ band in the THE World University Rankings 2026 and 801-1000 for medicine and health. QS lists it at 701-850 for medicine.
Latest developments
A sustainability report published in September 2026 showed 87 percent of electricity from clean sources and 57 percent of waste routed to recovery. The medical faculty received a certificate of merit from AMEE ASPIRE. Faculty projects won support from MSCA, Erasmus+ KA220-HED, TÜBİTAK 1002-A and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
