Altinbas University is a foundation university teaching medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, engineering, architecture, law, business, communication and social sciences at associate, bachelor's and graduate levels. As of July 2026 it comprises ten faculties, two schools and more than 13,000 students across the Mahmutbey Technology, Bakırköy Health and Gayrettepe Social Sciences campuses. Its model supports theoretical knowledge with laboratory work, clinical practice, research projects, entrepreneurship and industry partnerships.

About the university
Overview
Students come from 105 countries, and the university cites more than 6,000 international students. Erasmus+ study and internship mobility, double major and minor options, and exchange programmes are available. On the dual-degree law programme with the University of Cologne in Germany, students meeting the requirements can graduate from both institutions.
Campus and facilities
The central Mahmutbey Technology campus houses the rectorate, engineering and architecture, and the school of foreign languages. Gayrettepe Social Sciences hosts law, business, communication and social sciences. Bakırköy Health is the clinical training centre for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and health sciences, while Altinbas Teknopark in Esenyurt supports research and entrepreneurship.

In the URAP 2025-2026 Türkiye ranking the university places 104th, with an overall URAP score of 556.85. The position reflects its standing in a national table that compares universities on academic performance.
Latest developments
By number of teams applying at bachelor's and graduate level, the university entered Türkiye's top ten in the TEKNOFEST technology competitions in July 2026. In the same period its researchers' UAV Energy Transfer Station utility model was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
