Arel University is a foundation university in Istanbul offering associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral education in medicine, engineering, architecture, health sciences, communication, fine arts, business and vocational fields. Theory is supported by laboratory work, applied courses, scientific research and cooperation with industry. Academic and administrative activities take place on three campuses in the districts of Büyükçekmece, Küçükçekmece and Zeytinburnu, with the Tepekent Kemal Gözükara campus serving as the main site thanks to its large grounds, sports facilities and student accommodation. Instruction is in Turkish or English depending on the programme.

About the university
Overview
The International Office runs Erasmus+ study and internship mobility along with academic staff teaching and training activities, while the International Student Office supports applicants through admission, registration and orientation. The university also hosts centres for research projects, technology transfer, psychological counselling, distance education and continuing education.
Campus and facilities
The Tepekent Kemal Gözükara campus in Büyükçekmece is the main site, and the nearby Arel Student Village offers accommodation, transport, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a fitness centre and sports areas. The Sefaköy campus sits close to the city centre, while the Cevizlibağ campus serves medicine and health sciences.

Latest developments
Under the TÜBİTAK 1505 programme, a project with BEŞER Balata produced a sintered metal brake pad for high-speed trains that had no previous equivalent made in Türkiye, and a patent application was filed. The Faculty of Medicine also gained ECFMG certification.
