ARUCAD – Arkın Creative Arts and Design University was founded in Kyrenia in 2017 by Erbil Arkın and the Arkın Group. It describes itself as a boutique, theme-focused art university devoted entirely to art, design and communication, and sums up its educational approach with the motto "learning by producing, producing while learning". With five faculties and 18 programmes it offers a deliberately small, studio-based environment. Its Times Higher Education profile likewise presents it as a non-profit, field-focused institution.

About the university
Overview
All programmes carry YÖK approval, so graduates gain Turkish equivalency; the university is authorised by YÖDAK and listed in YÖK Atlas. International programmes are taught in English, with a CEFR-based four-level Preparatory School when needed, while some run in Turkish. Graduates also receive a Diploma Supplement.
Campus and facilities
Campus covers 26,514 m² and houses 13 workshops, 11 studios and seven laboratories spread across ceramics, textiles, photography, film, sound and digital game design. Student exhibitions are held at ARUCAD Art Space and at Art Rooms Gallery in Kyrenia. Accommodation is studio-apartment style, a short walk from campus.
Rankings
In the THE Impact Rankings 2026 the university places in the 1001-1500 band overall. Its strongest result is Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) at 301-400, followed by Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry and Reducing Inequalities at 401-600, and Quality Education and Climate Action at 601-800.
