Aydın University is a large foundation university in Istanbul offering associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral education in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, architecture, health sciences, education, law, communication, sports sciences, social sciences and fine arts. Classroom teaching is complemented by laboratory work, applied training, partnerships with industry, scientific research and international exchange. According to the university's July 2026 statement, more than 50,000 students are enrolled, international student numbers exceed 10,000 and total graduates have passed 100,000. Instruction is in Turkish or English depending on the programme.

Overview
Facilities include anatomy, biochemistry, medical skills, dentistry preclinical and engineering laboratories alongside aviation and pilot training areas and gastronomy kitchens. The official catalogue reports international cooperation in 84 countries, more than 660 partner universities and over 10,000 international students, and the university holds the ECTS and Diploma Supplement labels.
Campus and facilities
The Halit Aydın campus in Florya, Küçükçekmece, is the main site, housing the rectorate, faculties, the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Technology Centre, research and practice laboratories, the library and conference halls. The Büyükçekmece campus supports academic and social activities, and the dentistry faculty hospital in Esenyurt serves clinical training.

Latest developments
The pilotage programme produced its first graduates on 6 July 2026, when 23 pilot candidates received their licences at a ceremony. On 23 May 2026 the university gained the right to be represented in the General Assembly of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO.
