Istanbul Beykent University is a foundation university established in 1997 by the Adem Çelik – Beykent Education Foundation, and one of the first of its kind in Türkiye. Teaching began in the 1997-1998 academic year at the Beylikdüzü campus. In 2023 the institution changed its name from Beykent University to Istanbul Beykent University. It now runs four campuses in central districts of Istanbul, with a broad programme range stretching from medicine, dentistry and law to engineering, communication and the health sciences.

About the university
Overview
Nine faculties cover medicine, dentistry, law, engineering and architecture, communication, fine arts and health sciences, alongside a graduate institute. It lists 62 bachelor's and 76 associate programmes and reports 20,000 to 30,000 students, including more than 800 from abroad. Accreditations include MÜDEK, FEDEK, MEDEK, İLEDAK, AQAS and ACQUIN.
Campus and facilities
The main campus at Ayazağa-Maslak is joined by sites in Beylikdüzü, Hadımköy and Taksim, one housing the law faculty. Libraries across five campuses hold 129,413 printed books, 64,579 e-books, 38,137 journals and 33 databases. Medical and dental students train at Istanbul Beykent Hospital and Istanbul Beykent Dental Hospital.
Rankings
THE World University Rankings 2026 places the university in the 1501+ band, while the THE Impact Rankings 2026 puts it in the 1001-1500 band with a 301-400 placement for no poverty. Scimago ranks it 8,716th worldwide, QS Europe 131st in Western Asia, and uniRank 78th in Türkiye.
Latest developments
In September 2026 the university announced its Sector on Campus programme, started a graduate satisfaction survey and opened Istanbulkart applications for students. Recruitment notices for teaching staff and faculty were published in the same period, along with final results for academic appointments. International publication successes were also reported.
