Beykoz University

Beykoz University was founded in 2016 by the Turkish Logistics Research and Education Foundation (TÜRLEV) and welcomed its first students in the 2017-2018 academic year. Its roots reach further back: the foundation's Beykoz Logistics Vocational School produced around 2,500 graduates before the institution became a university. That heritage shapes its present character, with vocational and practice-oriented higher education, industry partnerships and field experience at the centre. Its institutional motto is John Dewey's line that education is not preparation for life but life itself.

About the university
Overview
Teaching spans four faculties — business and management sciences, art and design, social sciences, and engineering and architecture — plus two colleges, two vocational schools and a graduate institute. It enrols 5,816 students across 23 bachelor's, 14 associate and 34 graduate programmes. Exchanges run with 40 partner universities in 16 countries.
Campus and facilities
Six campuses operate in Kavacık, with a seventh under development at Mahmut Şevket Paşa, clustered around the Kavacık junction. The library covers 805 square metres, seats 172 people and holds more than 21,000 printed works. The university has no dormitory; students use KYK and private residences nearby.

In the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 the university sits in the 1001-1500 band overall, at 801-1000 for gender equality and decent work, and at 401-600 for reduced inequalities. uniRank 2026 places it 148th in Türkiye and 5,975th worldwide; that list measures web popularity rather than academic performance.
Latest developments
In September 2026 the university announced a rail systems education partnership with Metro İstanbul and published 2026 DGS placement results and admitted candidates for the political science and international relations doctorate. Free psychological counselling and the COP31 Youth Academy Team were announced in August 2026.
