Istinye University is a foundation university offering associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral education in health sciences, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, social sciences, communication, architecture and design. It was established drawing on the healthcare knowledge and practical experience of the MLP Care Group, which owns the Liv Hospital, Medical Park and VM Medical Park brands. The academic structure comprises nine faculties, two vocational schools and a graduate education institute. Teaching is backed by laboratory work, clinical practice, research centres, technology transfer and industry collaboration, and hospital partnerships give medical, dental and health sciences students clinical training.

About the university
Overview
University hospitals include Liv Hospital Bahçeşehir, Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa, Istinye Dental Hospital and Liv Hospital Topkapı, all used for clinical training and research. The university runs 32 research centres, a Technology Transfer Office and Istinye Lab, and its English preparatory programme holds CEA accreditation.
Campus and facilities
The main site is Vadi Campus in Ayazağa, Sarıyer, where faculties, administrative units, laboratories and congress venues come together. Vadi Main, AB, C, D and H blocks plus the Vadi Dentistry Hospital belong to the same setup. At Topkapı Campus in Zeytinburnu, several faculties occupy the main and annex buildings.
Rankings
The university places 31st in the 2025–2026 URAP Turkey-wide ranking with a total URAP score of 824.57. URAP compares universities on academic performance at national level.
Latest developments
In July 2026 Prof. Dr. Sertaç Öztürk of Basic Sciences received the Prof. Dr. Engin Arık Scientist Award from the Turkish Physical Society. The same month the university joined CERN's CMS experiment, saying it is the only Turkish university taking part in both of CERN's large experiments.
