TED University is a non-profit foundation university created by the Turkish Education Association Higher Education Foundation (TEDYÜV), carrying forward the 145-year tradition of the Turkish Education Association. Its establishment was published in the Official Gazette of 7 July 2009 under Law No. 5913, and teaching began in 2012. From its single central campus in Ankara's Kolej district it delivers every programme entirely in English.

About the university
Overview
Around 5,367 students are enrolled and 336 teaching staff work at the university. Its five faculties are Education, Engineering (computer, electrical and electronics, industrial, civil, mechanical and software), Arts and Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Architecture and Design, supported by the English Language School and the Graduate Programs Institute.
Campus and facilities
Campus sits in Ankara's central Kolej district, with purpose-built modern architecture and well-equipped classrooms. The Ayşe Ilıcak Library offers off-campus access and interlibrary lending. The 1,400 m² Fatma-Semih Akbil Cultural Centre hosts events, and a semi-Olympic indoor pool, sports hall and fitness centre are open to students without limit.

In the URAP Türkiye 2025-2026 table the university ranks 44th with 497.26 points among universities without a medical faculty. It sits in the 801-1000 band in the THE Impact Rankings 2026, with Gender Equality its best category at 301-400. uniRank 2026 places it 109th in Türkiye and 4,767th worldwide.
Latest developments
In August 2026 the university presented HYDROTHERABOTS, a robot that teaches people to walk in water again, and reported a Horizon Europe success. In July 2026 it published a university-choice guide, while June 2026 saw the Sports-Friendly Campus programme and the fifth Career and Preference Summit.
