Topkapi University is a foundation university offering associate, bachelor's and graduate education in engineering, health sciences, social sciences, communication, art, design, architecture and sports sciences. Its teaching model supports theory with applied courses, laboratory work, industry partnerships and internship opportunities. Campuses spread across both the European and Anatolian sides of Istanbul are arranged around the needs of different academic fields. The university counts more than 26,400 active students and over 30,000 graduates.

About the university
Overview
Four libraries serve the university with 4,121 square metres of space, seating for 734 people, more than 35,000 printed books and access to 49 databases. Erasmus+ covers student mobility, internships and staff exchanges. The Computer Engineering and Software Engineering programmes hold MÜDEK accreditation and the EUR-ACE quality label.
Campus and facilities
Kazlıçeşme campus in Zeytinburnu is the main site, housing the rectorate and administrative units. Engineering classrooms and laboratories sit in Altunizade and the practice kitchens in Şişli. Sports Sciences teaches at the Levent TSYD campus with gyms and a swimming pool, while Balat is among the historic sites.

In the URAP 2025-2026 Türkiye ranking the university places 191st, with an overall URAP score of 172.34. The placement reflects its position in a national table comparing universities on academic performance.
Latest developments
The Computer Engineering and Software Engineering bachelor's programmes were accredited by MÜDEK in July 2026 and earned the EUR-ACE quality label. Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin was reappointed as rector of the university by a presidential decree dated 22 July 2026.
